It is an ideal form of treatment to support women in pregnancy, as well as offering them safe and drug-free relief from a multitude of problems that may arise during pregnancy, childbirth and after delivery.

It can also be hugely beneficial for couples who are trying to conceive naturally or who are undergoing the stressful process of fertility treatment.

To receive care in conception, pregnancy or childbirth from a WAFT practitioner, you will usually need an initial consultation. During this we will ask about your general health, your pregnancy and your expectations. We will also ask about your plans for labour, whether you would prefer this to be at home or in a hospital.

We will offer a gentle acupuncture treatment and advice on how regularly you are likely to need to see us. We offer advice on diet, herbal medicines and life style. We also provide a referral service to experienced practitioners in other forms of complementary therapies, if necessary.
